Summary

As Marketing Apprentice, you will be involved in all aspects of our marketing. You will generate new customers for the business through the creation of innovative and engaging content that speaks to our audience, both online and offline, with the aim of maximising revenue. You will be responsible for helping to manage our online presence.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As a marketing apprentice you will assist the marketing director with the day to day running of the marketing department with extra focus on the following:

  • Digital Presence Management: Assist in Overseeing our website's content, ensuring it is current, and reflective of our brand. This includes updating images, updating supplier listings, and monitoring SEO to enhance visibility.
  • Content Creation: Create compelling, brand-aligned content for our blog, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok), and marketing materials, aimed at attracting new customers.
  • Social media: Assist with scheduling of content across various platforms. Build and nurture our online community, particularly through our Facebook Group, by engaging with followers, sharing relevant information, and gathering feedback.
  • Analytics and Improvement: assist in monitoring and analysing performance metrics for digital campaigns and content. Use insights to recommend and implement strategies.

  • Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
  • Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
  • Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
  • Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
  • Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
  • Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
  • Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
  • Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
  • Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
  • Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
  • Use a website content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
  • Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
  • Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
  • Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • Maths (grade 9-4)
  • English (grade 9-4)

Other requirements

Due to this being a Level 3 apprenticeship you will be entitled to 1 day a week of study leave to support your development and learning on site. Weekend and evening work may be required but this is rare. Own transport to the workplace is preferred and having a full driving license is an advantage.

After this apprenticeship

Upon completion of the apprenticeship it is hoped that a permanent Marketing Coordinator position would be offered.
