What to Expect as a Barbering Apprentice Working as a Barbering Apprentice isn’t all glamour and fades—there are everyday responsibilities that every team member, regardless of level, is expected to carry out. While you’ll have dedicated time to learn and develop your barbering skills, a large part of your role will involve supporting and assisting the team to ensure the smooth running of the barbershop. As an apprentice, you’ll often be the first point of contact for clients, making you the face of the barbershop. That means taking pride in your appearance is essential. We value individuality and personal style, but a smart, professional image is a must in a customer-facing role. You'll also need to be flexible with your working hours. This industry is busiest during evenings and weekends, so being available to work Saturdays and late nights is an important part of the role. This is a fast-paced, creative, and rewarding career—but it starts with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a team-first attitude.
