Summary
Onyx performance are offering a full-time apprenticeship based 5 minutes from Langley College. Onyx specialises in performance car tuning, In – House wheel refurbishment & Service centre. Apprentice will be given 1-1 training in both servicing and the wheel refurbishment department along with helping with tuning side of the business where needed.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Removing / refitting of wheels and tyres for the wheel refurbishment department.
- Jacking vehicles up and safely putting them on axle stands for work to be completed.
- Preparing wheels ready for the wheels to be painted.
- Completing jobs such as oil changes, replacement of brakes and other basic mechanical jobs.
- Helping with larger jobs that come into the workshop alongside our experienced technicians.
- Keeping the workshop clean and tidy.
- Helping the tuning sector when needed.

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and efficient workshop. Segregate waste for disposal or recycling. Comply with industry environmental legislation.
- Demonstrate due regard for own safety and that of others in the workshop and minimise risk of injury and vehicle damage.
- Carry out fundamental tasks associated with removal and replacement procedures on a vehicle.
- Obtain diagnostic and repair information.
- Interpret diagnostic information and use electrical wiring diagrams to determine system serviceability.
- Use a range of diagnostic equipment.
- Follow recognised diagnostic procedures, logical diagnostic sequence and apply advanced diagnostic principles and problem-solving techniques to establish faults.
- Report faults using company procedures and recommend suitable further actions.
- Follow recognised repair procedures to complete a wide range of repairs including those which involve complex procedures, or in depth knowledge.
- Test the function of repaired and fitted components.
- Adhere to business processes and complete documentation following workplace procedures.
- Use ICT to create emails, word-process documents and carry out web based searches.
- Complete a range of services and inspect and prepare a vehicle to the required quality standard for handover to the customer.

Cleaning and doing mechanical work. This role requires you to be on time daily, complete tasks with a ‘can do’ attitude and be motivated to complete all tasks to the best of your ability.

ONYX Performance is a tuning company based in Langley SL3. Onyx has been established for 2020 and now has moved onto doing wheel refurbishments as well as opening up a service centre. The company is growing massively and now we are looking for a new member of the team.
