Summary
We are looking to appoint a new apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and passionate SEND team at Richard Rose Central Academy. You will support, assist and supervise identified pupil/s with SEND under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo. You will work towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
To support students with identified barriers to learning, as recognised in their EHCP or pupil passport. The Teaching Assistant will work with students, in the classroom, 1:1 and in small groups, to address their needs and promote positive learning strategies. Main responsibilities include:
- To have secure strategies for supporting students with an EHCP/PP and complete monitoring sheets on a regular basis
- To work in accordance with the Special Needs Code of Practice.
- To contribute to updating of students’ EHCP/PP.
- To support the SENCO in ensuring that students are given appropriate strategies to support learning.
- To liaise with parents and other professionals to support students.
- To maintain records and to document observations of student achievement, behaviour and work in line with Academy and national policy.
- The postholder will be accountable for carrying out all duties and responsibilities with due regard to Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities Policy, Health & Safety Policy and Data Protection guidelines.

Your training plan
Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, delivered by United Learning Apprenticeships. The apprentice will complete training on the job from Richard Rose Central Academy, including remote CPD sessions (a minimum of 6.5 hours per week during normal working hours) and two national face to face conferences.

After this apprenticeship
You will be qualified as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant which could lead to a HLTA role, teacher training and full teaching role.
