Summary
This is a trainee role which will allow the candidate to develop over 18M-2Yrs into a full Commercial Insurance Broking Role. We act as the go between Commercial Customers and Insurers, broking their programme of Risk. Candidates will learn about a large range of industries and Insurance Products.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Update risk details and information on customers on our integrated computer system
- Liaise/refer queries from customers to insurers
- Update Motor Insurance Database with vehicle changes
- Obtaining and checking simple quotes
- Post Sorting/Phone answering
- Checking Documents

- Identify information from a range of sources to determine an appropriate course of action including a recommendation, a decision or a referral.

- Apply organisational quality assurance policies and procedures in their role and within the limits of own authority.

- Records, verifies, maintains and where appropriate, shares information.

- Identify potential claims fraud and determine the correct action to prevent loss.
- Manage insurance claims and/or payments within the limits of responsibility in line with policies and procedures.

- Recommend insurance and premiums decisions within the limits of responsibility and in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Gather and interpret relevant information to provide a return on insurance decisions.
- Match client’s needs with available insurance products and services.
- Optimises the potential return on insurance decisions within the scope of own role by identifying and positioning the client’s case with the insurer.

Your training plan
Insurance Practitioner Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:
The role will be fully undertaken within our office with training split between E-learning lessons with the training provider and on the job learning/mentoring with our own office team
More training information
- The Apprenticeship course will include the first three insurance exams so that the candidate will finish with the Certificate in Insurance. In addition to this skills specific to our industry will be taught and a portfolio of work will be compiled
- Alongside the formal apprenticeship we have a training plan which includes areas that we will develop with our apprentices including report writing, use of IT systems, product knowledge, how claims side of the business works, compliance etc.

After this apprenticeship
- We would expect Candidates to complete their Apprenticeship programme within 15 months of induction onto the Apprenticeshi
- After that we would expect them to progress to Junior and then full Commercial Brokers with options for the right candidate to progress to other more senior roles within the company in due course (these are many and varied)
