Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As a Machine Operator Trainee, you will be given the opportunity to develop valuable skills in the operation and programming of advanced steel fabrication machinery. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will learn to operate machines such as:

  • Plasma Cutter
  • Turret Punch
  • Press Brake
  • CNC Drill Line

Lean Manufacturing Operative Level 2.

The successful candidate will be based in the workplace 5 days a week, with a college tutor visit once a month. There may be a requirement to attend college once a month for a taught session.

General fabrications has been the back bone of the company since it was established. We can manufacture just about anything and a large number of customers come to us for their industrial fabrication requirements. We are based in the North East of England but service customers nationally and internationally.
