Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Ipeco Holdings Limited is a world-leading supplier of aircraft crew seating and executive jet passenger seating, with a growing presence in the electrical galley insert sector. The electrical gallery insert sector consists of a range of aeroplane hospitality products such as microwave ovens, water heaters, beverage makers and many more.

So what will you be learning?

You will solder both surface mount components, which are mounted directly onto the board’s surface, and pin-through-hole components, which are inserted into drilled holes and soldered on the opposite side

You will also be heavily involved with the mechanical assembly of products and the overall inspection of products, involving the testing of electronic assemblies and environmental stress testing.

You will be updating technical documentation with the various fault-finding activities you have completed whilst testing.

Other requirements

There are a number of Health and Safety hazards on-site including high voltage electricity, lead and other chemicals. Health and safety is paramount and therefore applicants are expected to have full compliance to rules and regulations including wearing personal protective equipment and using extraction at all times where there is a risk.
