Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
An apprentice will be joining a team of two engineers out on the road every day. A working week could include:
- Diagnosing faults on dispensing pumps
- Servicing mechanical electrical dispensers
- Pressure testing underground fuel tanks
- Testing Vapour recovery systems
- Digging out ground works, forming islands and repairing concrete
- Working with threaded steel pipework or UPP fusion welded pipework
- Installing new dispensers
- Attending local authority weights and measure checks

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- 2 other subjects (grade A*- C/ Grade 4-9)
- Maths, English and a science or engineering quali (grade A*- C/ Grade 4-9)
