Opportunity to join a local specialist business, learning all aspects of construction, modification, maintenance, and decommissioning of filling stations. We cover the Eastern Region working with the commercial and private sectors, from garage forecourts to haulage firms to private tank and pump set ups.

Wage

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

An apprentice will be joining a team of two engineers out on the road every day. A working week could include:

  • Diagnosing faults on dispensing pumps
  • Servicing mechanical electrical dispensers
  • Pressure testing underground fuel tanks
  • Testing Vapour recovery systems
  • Digging out ground works, forming islands and repairing concrete
  • Working with threaded steel pipework or UPP fusion welded pipework
  • Installing new dispensers
  • Attending local authority weights and measure checks

MOET - Maintenance Operations Engineer Technician level 3. Training to take place one day per week in college, with the rest of the working week spent out on site learning the job.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • 2 other subjects (grade A*- C/ Grade 4-9)
  • Maths, English and a science or engineering quali (grade A*- C/ Grade 4-9)
