What you'll do at work
Role and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers to conduct enjoyable, inclusive, and engaging clinical skills and practical scenario based lessons, while supervising and supporting students to ensure their safety, learning and development.
- Assist teachers in planning and executing learning activities, both within and outside the classroom and health suite for example external visits.
- Support students’ social needs by promoting and modelling positive behaviour.
- Work alongside teachers to monitor individual progress, achievements, and development, aiming to help students reach their highest potential.
- Contribute to the delivery of additional support to support learners development and progress
- Establish positive and professional communication with teachers and students to build a strong rapport and ensure collaborative support for students.
Technical skills:
You will provide efficient technical service, ensuring optimal organisation, maintenance, and preparation of teaching/assessment spaces/equipment. You will use and support simulator technologies, digital recordings and uploads such as filming and assist students and academic staff before, during and after practical and theoretical teaching sessions, handle routine cleaning regarding the simulators and set up and setting down of scenarios and maintenance, and order consumables. related to the health suite and the T level programme
This involves:
- Manage simulated environment scenarios as directed by the teacher setting up and setting down equipment to ensure the effective maintenance of all simulated models/mannikins and clinical equipment with particular focus on the health suite and clinical room
- Ensure the effective maintenance and performance of all simulated models/mannikins
- Ensure the effective maintenance of all clinical equipment
- Work with college health, safety and maintenance team to ensure effective maintenance of all clinical equipment to ensure the safety of the department
- To support the teacher in the delivery and supervision of simulated scenarios as directed
- To support individual and or small groups of students to develop non-invasive clinical skills e.g. moving and handling, physiological measurement such as blood pressure recording
