Summary

This role is based from Staffordshire working alongside our Field Service Engineers in medical settings across Central and Northern England learning and developing the skills required to become an X-ray Engineer. Applicants must be aged 18+ and have a full driving licence due to the nature of the role.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Learn all health and safety information, your responsibilities and the relevant regulations relating to all aspects of your work, including medical x-ray
  • Co-ordinate and plan your days work with the engineer ensuring that you arrive as agreed and have any required equipment that you will require for the task
  • Follow all engineering procedures and processes diligently to ensure the task is carried out correctly
  • Learn Planned Preventative Maintenance following defined procedures
  • Be part of an Installation team learning how to install and commission complex medical imaging equipment
  • Develop your fault finding skills to problem solve mechanical issues, parts replacement and testing electrical and electronic components including safety testing
  • Testing and calibrating the x-ray output from the system, ensuring the system delivers the correct characteristics of x-ray output for the procedure and ensure that critical system alignments are correct
  • Routinely installing and updating software, our systems are a mixture of Windows and Linux platforms with bespoke operating software

Full training will be provided along with continued support and coaching from the Management team and colleagues within the Xograph Engineering team.

This role is based from home working alongside our Field Service Engineers in medical set- tings mainly across the North West of England with occasional work across the UK learning and developing the skills required to become an X-ray Engineer. This is blended with college attendance to provide full apprenticeship programme.

GCSE in:

Other requirements

This role is based from home. As an Apprentice X-Ray Engineer, you do not have a routine fixed place of work. You will predominantly perform your duties at customer sites in North West England with occasional travel throughout the UK, to meet with business demand. The successful applicant needs: To be 18 at the commencement of the apprenticeship. To have a full driving licence. To Successfully pass a DBS check
