Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with other Income Specialists within the Income Management and Financial Inclusion Team (IMFIT). This is a two-year apprenticeship where from day 1 to the end of the 2 years, you will be given the training and skills needed to fulfil your role to become an Income Plus Specialist.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Provide support and advice to customers to maximise income and prioritise payments of rent
- Take firm but fair recovery action to recover all unpaid rent from current and former tenants
- Work in partnership to provide customers with advice and support to mitigate impacts on themselves and Housing Revenue Account (HRA) income collection
- To provide specialist Incomes services to contribute to maximising income collection for the HRA
- To represent Sheffield City Council in Court in legal possession proceedings for rent arrears
- Supporting Management Team to develop procedures and systems and provide advice to Neighbourhood Teams and Business Support Officers
- Use discretion where appropriate to provide an excellent service to customers supporting them to sustain their tenancy whilst maximising arrears recovery
- Supports partnership working with teams within the housing and neighbourhood service and external stakeholders
- Helps to achieve the transition from a compartmentalised housing management framework to a more holistic and joined-up approach to delivering services
- Relies less on a ‘one size fits all’ approach, and which instead takes a more tailored and discretionary approach to delivering services
- Recognises that all teams within the Service can and must make a significant and positive contribution to sustainable neighbourhoods and social inclusion

GCSE or equivalent in:
