What you will do in your working day

  • Work everyday with patients 
  • Fit and remove ambulatory heart/blood pressure monitors
  • ECGs with in-patients and outpatients
  • Exercise testing
  • Pacemaker follow ups 

The training you will be getting

  • You will complete a Healthcare Science Practioner (Physiological Sciences) apprenticeship
  • Apprentices will achieve an accredited/approved BSc (Honours) degree in healthcare science.
  • University of West of England, Bristol
  • Self directed learning alongside lectures, workshops, tutorials and practical work.
  • Minimal attendance at Univeristy 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

As a university trust and a leader in healthcare research we value learning, teaching and training.

On completion of the apprenticeship you will be a a qualified and competent Cardiac Physiologist/Healthcare Science Practitioner. We anticipate that there will be a band 5 role in the department for you on completion of the apprenticeship.

You will be working in a busy environment and completing a degree apprenticeship. You need to have a strong interest in this area and a desire to work with the public.
