About the employer

Motherwell’s vision is to encourage, inspire and empower every women and girl who turns to the organisation for help and support. The charity’s services aim to promote positive health and wellbeing, by offering a range of educational services, holistic therapies and mental health support. Services include the Motherwell Community Share Hub, which started as a way for parents to donate and share school uniform and has since expanded to include a Prom Dress service, a vintage clothing store, a baby bank and period poverty kits. It also runs unique projects such as Believe, which offers vital support for Mums and pregnant women whose child/children may be subject to a child protection plan, and FlourisHER, a women and girls’ health and mental wellbeing programme. One of Motherwell’s newest services was the opening of a community laundrette in Winsford which is free for the community to use and doubles up as a social and learning space. Chief Executive Kate Blakemore, a trained counsellor and founded and former homeless support worker, founded Motherwell and the organisation is preparing for its 10th anniversary celebrations next year.
