What you will do in your working day
- Apply the full range of acquired mechanical engineering skills and knowledge to set up, operate and maintain all manufacturing plant as appropriate to the Apprenticeship.
- Use of hand power tools in workshops or on site, as appropriate to the job and specific training
- Movement of materials both manually and with appropriate lifting aids. Learn and undertake associated skills to complement business requirements
- Carry out any other appropriate task as instructed by a supervisor or manager
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: - To comply with all Health, Safety & Environmental policies, and procedures
- To understand and comply with all other Company policies and procedures
- To competently and efficiently undertake a full range of mechanical engineering duties and tasks with such training and support as is appropriate.
- To attend college and complete course work on time and to a high standard
- To produce, maintain and be responsible for content, accuracy and sign off logbooks
- To progressively take on additional responsibility over the term of the Apprenticeship commensurate with the expected level of skills acquisition and personal development.
- To understand and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time
- To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner To attend and fully participate regular training and development reviews with Training & Human Resources Management, Mentor and Training provider representatives.
- To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
The training you will be getting
An apprenticeship allows you to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence. You will be expected to work towards the Maintenance and operations engineering technician level 3 apprenticeship standard.
Candidates will work towards a Level 2 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering & Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
Apprenticeship Standard, with support from your employer and the Chesterfield College Group. As part of your apprenticeship, and dependent on your prior attainment, you may be required to complete maths and English Functional Skills which is an integral part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition for these qualifications.
