In this role, the HR Operations Apprentice will provide support to both the HR & Payroll Manager and Coordinator. They will be expected to provide administrative support and support to employees on their employment journey. They will need to show their willingness to pursue a career within Human Resources or Payroll and understand confidentiality.

    30 hours over one week Monday - Friday including study time at college. Currently, the training at college is 3 hours (6-9pm Tue). The rest of the hours to be spread equally over Monday - Friday, with a need to work Friday and Monday for payroll

What you will do in your working day

·         Post job adverts and publish team news around the business.

·         Administer new starters and leavers / employment changes into the HRIS and Development platform.

·         Data input details into our clocking software / HRIS to allow for a live employee database.

·         Assist with the department document register creation and upkeep.

·         Book and coordinate employee training

·         Administer employee clocking in FOBs and deal with any queries.

·         Support the HR & Payroll Manager with the implementation of the new development platform. Ensuring correct training is aligned to roles and training certificates and dates are correct.

·         Provide notetaking support for meetings as required

·         Provide new starter inductions from an HR perspective

·         Administer employee holiday requests

·         Audit personnel files to ensure compliance and scanning for electronic files.

·         Filing and processing of HR paperwork as required.

·         Assist with mental health queries if/when they arise

·         Provide payroll processing cover for the HR & Payroll Coordinator, when required, for both monthly and weekly payrolls.

·         Any other duties deemed suitable by your line manager and required by the business.

The training you will be getting

The apprentice will achieve a level 3 qualification with CIPD training. 

The apprentice will be expected to attend college one day per week with time allowed for studying and on the job training.

Things to consider

A manufacturing environment that therefore cannot allow any applications under the age of 18. A small team of three with the requirement to visit all four sites on the estate.
