What you will do in your working day

Responsibilities:

  • Programme the Laser etching machine with the appropriate
    information.
  • Balancing of all tools to within safety guidelines
  • Shot blasting of tools
  • Filing and plating tools
  • Boxing and labelling of tools including stock items
  • Keeping stock levels to a minimum requirement advising
    management if low
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Perform any finishing requirements such as painting, spraying
    and sealing tools
  • Reporting any issues that occur during work day to the correct
    person.
  • Complete maintenance checks of machines periodically and
    maintain logs
  • Raising order requests for goods required such as packing
    boxes
  • Maintain a neat and tidy work environment.
  • Responsible for integrity and quality checks.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety regulations

  • Proactive and flexible in order to be able to effectively carry out
    their role
  • Ability to carry out multiple tasks and a possession of practical
    aptitude
  • The ability to adhere to and carry out instructions when
    required
  • Sound communication skills to deliver good team work
  • Possess physical and mental dexterity to be able to perform these duties effectively
  • Must be precise, careful, patient, responsible, swift and alert

The training you will be getting

  • Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship qualification
  • A minimum of 4 GCSEs grades 9-3 including English, maths and science
  • 4 days on site with 1 day spent training at Chelmsford College
