What you will do in your working day
- To support the manage to manage the home to safeguard and promote the wellbeing of young people.
- To support the manager to manage the home’s staff team.
- To support to manage a quality service aiming to achieve a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating.
- To represent the home to outside agencies and ensure compliance with the statutory requirements imposed by them and requirements of commissioners.
- To work with the wider management team to contribute to the planning and development of Care Perspectives and to provide management support to other areas of the service needing this.
- To increase and maintain occupancy levels that both appropriate with the business needs of the service and needs of the young people placed.
Leadership & Management of the home
- To provide quality supervision and appraisal to nominated staff members in line with staff plans and as designated by the management team.
- Organising rotas and ensuring correct deployment of staff team, in line with safety and individual homes budgets.
Wellbeing of young people
- To provide high quality care and support for children and young people in residential services and in the community.
- To help plan and support suitable holidays and activities for children and young people.
Managing Staff
- To motivate, support and guidance for staff on duty, on all shifts.
- To provide on call support for staff, from home on a rota basis.
- To contribute to positive behaviour support in line with PRICE principles and values.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensuring all policies and procedures including the Childrens Home Regulations and Quality Standards are being adhered to.
- To contribute and develop quality care plans for young people.
The training you will be getting
- Comprehensive 2-week initial induction – including online training, face to face training and shadowing.
- Ongoing mandatory and CPD training relevant to the sector and the need of the home.
- Level 5 Children, young people and family’s manager Apprenticeship or relevant equivalent
