As a sports coach apprentice, you will provide sports opportunities to children throughout the school. Running a range of breakfast or after-school clubs and promoting active lifestyles in the school community. You will liaise closely with the PE leader and the class teachers to ensure that all children are getting an effective sport education.

What you will do in your working day
- Support the provision of high-quality sports coaching
- Involve all children in PE and adapt lessons for different abilities
- Feedback to students on performance to help them improve techniques and understanding
- Improve links with local schools and partners to help with competitive sport and physical activity provision
- Increase physical activity levels within the school
- Support the PE Coordinator regarding intra and inter school events
- Assist the school in its day to day duties
The training you will be getting
L4 Apprenticeship Standard in Sports Coach
- Functional Skills Level 2 in English or Maths (if required)
End-Point Assessment (EPA):
- Work based project and presentation with questioning
- Practical observation with questioning
- Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio
Delivery Method
- You will need to be able to attend a training course at Loughborough College starting on Monday 5th August 2024 for 3 weeks Monday to Friday. (Please ensure you are able to travel before applying)
- Online portfolio to update with learning and development completed onsite
- Diarised visits from dedicated Trainer/Assessor
- Attendance to Loughborough College for Functional Skills (if required)
