    30 hours a week, typically worked between 10.00 - 16.00 Monday - Friday. This includes one day a fortnight at Nescot College, Ewell, Surrey. Lunch and breaks to be taken around the needs of children in care and in line with safeguarding procedures.

What you will do in your working day

The ideal candidate will already have some experience in looking after children and be passionate about caring for them. As a childminding apprentice, your main duties will include;

  • Playing with and caring for the children whilst abiding by the safeguarding policy to keep children safe at all times.
  • Preparing meals and clearing up.
  • Collecting children from school/nursery, as well as chatting to parents at drop off and pick up times.
  • Frequently, you will be asked to accompany the childminder on a trip somewhere, most commonly to the park or to a toddler group. 
  • Assist with and record children’s learning to ensure it is compliant with the Early Years Foundation Stage. 

This is balanced with other childminder's who are bursting with enthusiasm, so you will enjoy being part of a small team. 

Living accommodation is also possible for the right candidate/s.

Please note - This role can start sooner than the September 2024 intake, if desired. This can be disucssed at interview.

The training you will be getting

As well as studying for the Early Years level 3 apprenticeship, you will also get opportunity to be a fully qualified and Ofsted registered childminder. You will receive qualifications in level 3 Early Years and Paediatric First Aid.

One day a fortnight, you will be required to attend Nescot college in Ewell, Surrey, to learn the theortetical aspects of the course.

As well as getting you early years level 3 apprenticeship, you will also get opportunity to be a fully qualified and Ofsted registered childminder.

Some flexibility in hours might be requested. Living accommodation is also possible for the right candidate.

About the employer

Childcare company established 15 years ago currently employing 6 people, three of which are fully registered childminders, Childcare is provided all year round for children aged 9 months to 12 years, predominantly from 0730 to 1830 Monday to Friday. However, subject to availability and at special requests, evening and weekend care is considered.
