What you will do in your working day

  • Receive deliveries and check delivery notes against order and store goods correctly.
  • Read and understand each individual job task sheet issued per customer order.
  • According to orders, select appropriate machine and set up machine following manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Select blank material such as wood, aluminium, slate, acrylic, leather or any other print media according to customer order.
  • Action customer order according to detail, following machine operating instructions.
  • Check quality control.
  • Maintain good finishing operations and packaging final product correctly ready for dispatch or issue direct to customer.

The training you will be getting

Level 2 Engineering Operative apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills if required.

Tech cert : This programme includes EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills) and Level 2 Certificate or Diploma in engineering operations (knowledge).

This programme is delivered via a day release delivery model which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our Engineering campus, NG17. This attendance is required during term time only.

You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.
You will experience a blended learning model.
You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.
At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.
