What you will do in your working day

Working in domestic homes you will predominately working as a bricklayer apprentice doing tasks such as:

  • Laying bricks
  • Applying or removing mortar with a trowel
  • Working accurately from detailed plans and specifications
  • Sealing foundations with damp-resistant materials
  • Using spirit levels and plumb lines to check building alignment
  • Using hand tools, power tools and brick-cutting machines

However, you will also be expected to multi task which will include –groundwork, roof tiling, any tasks in relation into building extensions.

The training you will be getting

  • Level 2 Bricklayer qualification
  • The apprenticeship will be delivered both at college and in the workplace

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • The successful candidate has the opportunity to gain a permanent role with the company upon completion of the apprenticeship.

GCSE or equivalent English and Maths (Grade E/2) Essential
Other UK Driving License (Grade Pass) Desired

Things to consider

You will be mainly working in the Derby area. If do not drive you will have to get to Littleover to be picked up or go straight to site. Ideally we would like someone who can drive a car or motorbike/moped.
