    Pay may differ dependant on the hours. £12,480 - 30 hours a week £16,640 - 40 hours a week

  • Working week

    Shift times and dates to be confirmed. The working pattern will be dependent on the pub but it will be a blend of day, evening and weekend shifts. Breaks are included with a 75% discount for team food.

What you will do in your working day

Daily duties:

  • Preparing and cooking a high quality, well presented and appropriate food offer as per the menu
  • To ensure excellent and enduring standards of both food hygiene/safety and personal
  • Assisting with effective stock management including stock rotation and maintaining appropriate stock levels as directed by the Head Chef and Sous Chef
  • To ensure that customer expectations are satisfied and where possible exceeded both in terms of food quality and speed of service
  • To undertake such other duties and reasonable requests as required by the business or commensurate with the role, for example, manual handling

The training you will be getting

  • Commis Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
  • 1 college day release a week
  • Full on-the-job training and support from your team
  • Monthly visits from your College Assessor
  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) workbook
  • Functional skills in maths, English and ICT - if applicable and depending on your prior attainments

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • Potential for internal progression, however, this is not guaranteed.
