With on-the-job training complementing your IT apprenticeship coursework, you will be supported by a small but experienced and friendly group of professionals.

Initially largely a user-support position, as your skillset and confidence develops you will quickly graduate to more complex and challenging tasks including preventative maintenance automation, server maintenance and be involved in the occasional large project with the rest of the team.

Of course, you need to be interested in IT, but interpersonal skills are also very important.

You will have responsibility to:

  • Field client enquiries and document calls, to create relevant support tickets
  • Assess problem complexity
  • Endeavour to resolve the problem if it is within the engineer’s level of competency, or to escalate to senior engineers if not
  • Work in collaboration with team members to ensure exposure to, and learn from, the widest possible sets of problem scenarios
  • Endeavour to quickly learn, and become conversant with, the company’s software solutions used to assist clients

The role will be based full time in our offices in Croydon. Occasional travel to London and further afield may be required for clients’ on-site assistance. Working hours will be 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. On occasion, some IT problems need to be resolved outside of standard working hours. Flexibility in working hours is expected and compensation or time-in-lieu will be provided.

Success in the role will be ascertained as a combination of the following factors:

  • First and foremost, client satisfaction
  • Ability to assimilate new skills and learn on the job
  • Achieving the correct qualifications in the allocated time (A+, Infrastructure Technician qualification or other pre-agreed qualification)

The training you will be getting

  • ICT (Information Communications Technician) Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
  • You will also receive full training and support from the Just IT Apprenticeship team to increase your skills
  • Your training will include gaining A Level 3 IT qualifications
