What you will do in your working day

Typical duties for this role will include:

  • Having a good understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
  • Working to ISO standards and create audits as required
  • Maintaining the ISO system
  • Creating CAD modeling for production/manufacturing
  • Being fully conversant with manual inspection procedures/methods
  • Being fully conversant with CMM inspection to include CAD models
  • Undertaking production monitoring
  • Creating written reports (FAIR, ISIR etc,) issue conformance certificates and generating customer information supply packs 

The training you will be getting

This is a Level 3 Engineering Technician apprenticeship, Technical Support pathway, delivered over a period of 4 years. 

Mandatory qualifications:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Technical Support
  • Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)

The apprentice will attend the training centre, In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge, WS9 8UG, 2.5 days per week for the first two years, and the company for the rest of the time.
