What you will do in your working day

The company’s core values are an incredibly important part to the overall success of the company. So, your positive, can-do attitude and bubbly approach will play a significant part in the day-to-day enjoyment of your role.  

You will initially spend time with the Procurement team, here you will learn about all the businesses activities and workflows. 

You will also learn about the importance of data input and the companies Office net business software. 

After the initial 2-3 months you will then move into the Accounts Department. 

Here you will team up with a small, experienced team ensuring you will be guided, mentored and coached with care and support to continue your apprenticeship.

The AAT L2 Qualification will provide an excellent foundation to progress from and support is available should you wish to continue to L3/L4. 

The Accounts Apprentice will play a vital role within our Finance team, collaborating closely with our Procurement team to process supplier invoices, match them against purchase orders, and ensure accuracy in financial transactions. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and hands-on experience in accounting and procurement processes. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Match supplier invoices against corresponding purchase orders to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with the Procurement team to resolve any discrepancies or issues with invoices
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and documentation 
  • Support the Finance team in various accounting tasks and projects as needed 
  • Participate in training sessions to develop skills and knowledge in accounting and procurement processes

The training you will be getting

You will receive training one day per week which is a combination of face-to-face and remote, as per your assigned training plan.   

You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. 

They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment to gain your Accounts/ Finance Assistant Level 2 qualification. 

There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme. 

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

To progress should you wish to continue to L3/L4 and a career in accountancy.
