What you will do in your working day

We are looking for an apprentice who may have or is completing their first year and have some experience of working on cars.

You will have the opportunity to work on multi franchise cars and gain experience in all aspects of car repair and maintenance, including electrical systems and comprised diagnostics.

We are looking for someone to be a team player and be involved with all aspects of the business including taking phone bookings and interacting with the customers.

Duties will include:

  • Repairing petrol and diesel engines.
  • Using checklists to inspect and repair vehicles.
  • Testing vehicles both before commencing to repair and after reparations.
  • Performing standard mechanical repairs, such as changing brake pads.
  • Attaching car batteries to in-shop testing devices to determine functionality.
  • Conducting roadworthiness inspections of vehicles.
  • Performing inspections on different car parts.
  • Ordering new car parts by phone or online.
  • Learning repair techniques under the supervision of the mechanic.
  • Maintaining the workshop and customer areas and keeping inventory areas well-organised.
  • Recording attendance hours.

English and maths - Functional skills if required.

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

It is expected that you will remain a team member and we will carry on furthermore complex training including but not limited to, diagnostic, AC systems & F gas, Electric vehicle and Mot tester training (when old enough & experienced)
