What you will do in your working day

Key duties will include: ·

  • Work with the Manager of Marketing & Communications to develop interesting and creative materials across differing media to meet the needs of the Academies in the Trust.
  • Support in the maintenance and development of the Trust’s websites and other online resources including social media accounts.
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve the reputation of the Trust via high quality graphic and visual representation.
  • Ensure information is communicated effectively to staff, students, parents and external parties via the website and social media channels.
  • Design and develop graphics, signage, publicity documents and other relevant materials at the request of a range of middle and senior leaders.
  • Liaise effectively with other professionals and agencies involved in the marketing and image of the academies in the Trust.
  • Work to tight deadlines when required.
  • Take high quality photographs of events to contribute to the weekly blogs.
  • Be open to feedback and willing to make changes to design ideas.
  • Assist the Manager of Marketing & Communications in the creation of marketing campaigns where needed.
  • Change and update the content of internal digital screens as required.
  • Support with the recording/editing of video materials for publicity/marketing purposes.
  • To undertake any other duties, consistent with the nature of the role, which may be required from time to time by the Academy headteachers and the CEO of the Trust.

The training you will be getting

Training will take place in our Academy Trust schools. This is currently across two sites. Southmoor Academy & Sixth Form, Sunderland, and Sandhill view Academy Sunderland. Travel between these sites throughout the day may also be necessary.

Training will take place entirely on site at one of these venues as deemed necessary by our Manage of Marketing and Communications.

Things to consider

The role often involves taking photos of the young people at our academies as they learn and enjoy school life. This means entering active classrooms across our school sites and taking pictures of events and activities. Occasionally these may take place outside such as for PE. This is not a remote working role, all work must take place on our premises.
