What you will do in your working day
- Installing cabling (1st fix) to relevant standards
- Drilling holes/using a cordless drill and a range of hand tools
- Mounting and connecting equipment (2nd fix)
- Commissioning, testing, fault finding
- Reactive & preventative maintenance
- Liaising with trainers to set up workshop activities
- Following health & safety guidelines
- Liaising with trainers to purchase workshop consumables and maintain stock levels
- Attending weekly day release sessions
Duties are expected to progress to include:
- Supervision of apprentices carrying out practical work
- Coaching of practical work
- Applicants should have good IT skills and the ability to work as part of a team
The training you will be getting
- The successful applicant will work towards the Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard and will also apply for their apprentice ECS card
- Will be required to attend weekly day release at Access Training on Team Valley, Gateshead
