What you will do in your working day
- Supporting a multi-functional team with design and engineering understanding for the creation of designs that meet consumer and business needs
- Creating technical solutions including component and assembly design
- Exploring feasibility with virtual and physical design exploration and validation (including various prototyping methods)
- Focus on reducing environmental footprint of all packaging in line with the Unilever Sustainable living plan
The training you will be getting
The candidate will study for a Level 6 Product Design and Development Engineer. On completion of this, you will gain a qualification in Engineering at Degree Level 6 standard - BEng Honours or BSc Honours degree accredited by an Engineering Council licensed Professional Engineering Institution (PEI).
During the first year of the apprenticeship, your learning will take place at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre based at Catcliffe, Rotherham, for an initial block of study on a full-time basis. After this, you will attend the Training Centre for one day a week for knowledge study.
