What you will do in your working day
- The role will include providing support during the design stage of construction projects to help clients deliver buildings. It will involve managing design teams to develop design information, secure planning consent and procure a contractor.
- The role will also include working through the construction delivery stage of projects to manage and administrate contracts with building contractors, on behalf of the client. Monitoring progress against programme, issuing instructions, managing change, certifying works etc.
- The role will include a mix of working in our office, attending meetings with our clients and designers and spending time on construction sites inspecting work and monitoring progress.
The training you will be getting
Through successful completion of this apprenticeship, you will achieve a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited BSc (Hons) in Construction Management.
When you study at UCEM, you’ll be using a state-of-the-art Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), a specialised resource which provides you with everything you need to keep on top of your studies and succeed.
You’ll be guided through your learning with weekly study schedules and course guides. Studying online doesn’t mean studying alone, as you’ll also be fully supported by highly experienced tutors and fellow students throughout your studies.
You’ll also have access to a fantastic e-Library, which hosts a vast collection of e-books, journals, articles and other online resources, enabling you to access a wealth of subject-specific and credible information to support you throughout your studies.
- Study will be one day per week
- Upon achievement of the bachelor’s degree and the structured workplace learning you will undertake the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) leading to registration with the RICS as a Chartered Surveyor.
