What you will do in your working day

  • Working towards an honours degree meeting the Social Work Apprenticeship Degree Standard. 
  • This post is based in Adult Social Care, the post holder will be required to work collaboratively across adult social care and partner agencies to support and promote strong communities,
    making a real difference to the people and communities we serve, now, and for the future, whilst ensuring that we are delivering value for money.
  • Support is delivered through a strength-based approach to create opportunities, build resilience and long-term support networks so that people live their lives as successfully, independently,
    and as safely as possible.
  • Work as part of the teams within Adult Social Care to support and deliver social work to adults and families that we engage with, in line with statutory requirements.
  • Any other duties as may be deemed necessary to carry out the full remit of the role.

The training you will be getting

  • You will achieve a Level 6 degree in Social Work
  • You will also achieve an apprenticeship qualification in Social Work
  • You will attend University in Aylesbury for 1 day a week

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

  • To be a qualified Social Worker
  • Further progression may well be available in other areas within our sector, upon successful completion of the apprenticeship

Things to consider

You must have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years. You must be able to work full-time because of the placements and University attendance required. You are not eligible if you already have a Social Work degree.
