What you will do in your working day
Working on a major contractor's site, we have an opportunity for an apprentice to move into the construction industry.
You will then gain a Level 2 Interior Systems Installer qualification, focusing on drylining. Drylining is a process of concealing electrics, insulating and providing insulation and acoustics to a room or area.
As a Drylining Apprentice, the successful candidate will be involved with:
- Reading drawings and diagrams
- Metal stud partitioning
- Tacking, taping & Jointing the makeup and structure of internal walls
- Cutting and measuring sizes and angles of plasterboard
- Plasterboard fixing to timber and metal frame
- Walls finishes including joints seals and taping
- Application of skim and sanding to perfect finish
- Complete quality assurance checks
- General construction site Health and safety
The training you will be getting
- The apprentice will work towards a Level 2 Interior Systems Installer qualification
- They will receive regular practical and theoretical training by a recognised training provider
- For the first 6 months this will be online and then will progress to practical sessions via block relaease sessions at the Training Provider's location where needed
- English and maths qualifications form a mandatory part of all apprenticeships and must be completed before an apprentice can pass through gateway
