What you will do in your working day

  • To become fully conversant with all aspects of Glenair Manufacturing.
    • To travel and attend college on day release as required gaining relevant knowledge and experience.
    • To be able to self manage assignments to successfully complete the apprenticeship programme.
    • To learn about all aspects of harness production.
    • To learn how to write technical processes.
    • To learn how to problem solve electrical production problems.
    • To learn about materials included Epoxies and Polymers.
    • To be proficient in reading and producing detail drawings.
    • To become familiar with Glenair quality procedures.
    • To assist all staff at all levels with engineering/production issues.
    • To be able to use and interpret engineering data and documentation such as engineering drawings, technical data and computer generated programmes.

The training you will be getting

Level 4 Process Engineering apprenticeship standard, including Functional Skills if required.

Tech cert : This programme includes BTEC Higher National Certificate in Engineering.

This programme is delivered via a day release delivery model which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our Engineering campus, NG17. This attendance is required during term time only.

You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession.
You will experience a blended learning model.
You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio.
At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.
