What you will do in your working day

Apprentices will gain real workplace experience of the varying roles required to successfully design and install automatic Fire Sprinkler Systems.  These roles include:

  • Design: Utilising the latest 3D BIM and CAD software including
  • Revit, Navisworks and AutoCAD, the design of each system is a unique challenge: co-ordinate pipework, plant and equipment with other services; meet stringent design criteria and international standards to ensure flows & densities meet the protected risk; size pipework based upon hydraulic modelling of flows and pressures under varying scenarios.
  • Project Management: Learn to effectively programme timelines to achieve delivery of projects to fixed budgets and deadlines.
  • Sales and estimating: Understand specifications within tender packages and calculate anticipated quantities and costs to meet deadlines and budgets; liaise with customers to meet their expectations whilst achieving the companies' business requirements.
  • Service & Maintenance: in-depth knowledge and understanding will be developed so that complex plant and equipment is proactively serviced and maintained; reactively diagnose & problem solve to overcome technical issues.

The training you will be getting

Level 4 Building Services Engineering Senior Technician delivered by Skills4Stem.

A Level 4 qualification in Construction and Built Environment that meets the knowledge requirements of the standard and is approved by the Engineering Council as meeting the learning outcomes specified for EngTech at level 4. 

The blended programme would be delivered as follows:

  • Skills4Stem eLearning online (24/7)
  • Skills4Stem workbooks
  • 1 full day face-to-face or remote training session per month
  • 1 full day face-to-face or remote workshop per month
  • Unlimited 1-2-1 remote support
