What you will do in your working day

  • Close communication with operators and management.
    Identify any opportunities for improvement and plan/execute accordingly
  • Daily and accurate completion of records including timesheets and inspection status documentation
  • Report any manufacturing and assembly errors to the team leader so corrective action can be agreed
  • To adhere to all required quality and H&S standards
  • Respond to and diagnose equipment breakdown, resolving issues and actioning repairs
  • Perform daily housekeeping and cleaning duties of all equipment
  • To work with other departments in analysing data to find solutions to improve plant performance
  • To undertake other duties as may be required

The training you will be getting

  • Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship Standard, including Functional Skills if required
  • You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the profession
  • You will experience a blended learning model
  • This programme is delivered via a day release delivery model which means that one day per week, your attendance is required at our engineering campus (NG17). This attendance is required during term time only
  • You will gather learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio
  • At the end of the planned learning period, it will be agreed that you are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged
