    £12,000.00

    After successful completion of Year 1 you will automatically be placed on the National Minimum Wage rate for your age group. We offer a Bi-annual bonus scheme, overtime at an enhanced rate, loyalty holidays, the option to buy holidays and many more.

  • Working week

    IF UNDER 18: 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday - Thursday and 8.30am - 4.00pm every Friday. You will not work on Saturdays. IF OVER 18: 7.30am / 8.00am - 4.30pm / 5.00pm Monday - Friday. Occasional overtime on Saturdays.

What you will do in your working day

GAP Group Apprentices are a key in ensuring our Depots have the right level of expertise, today, tomorrow and in future.

Our 2-year Apprenticeship Programme covers all the essential skills and principles you will need to become a Hire Controller and you’ll learn how to:

  • Run an effective hire desk, including stock control and purchasing, driving sales
  • Managing customer queries effectively
  • Co-ordinating drivers to ensure customers’ needs are met
  • You’ll also study everything from customer service and sales skills to back-office administration and credit control of a high-performing hire desk

The training you will be getting

As an Apprentice Hire Controller, you will be enrolled in a blended learning programme where you will gain NVQ Level 2 as a Customer Service Practitioner through a mixture of on-the-job experience and online training through a leading training provider.

Functional skills in maths and English (if required).

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

This apprenticeship gives you all the experience and skills you need to become a Hire Controller. Your role will progress from the 'Apprentice Hire Controller' role to the 'Hire Controller' role on completion of your apprenticeship with GAP Group.
