Summary
TAs work with and care for children of all ages. They play an integral part in pupils well-being; ensuring pupils thrive in a positive environment. TA's will be offered a personalised pathway to develop in up to two specialist areas: Special Educational Needs and Disability, Early Years, Behaviour, English as an Additional Language and Assessment.

- Comply with legislation, guidance, and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding and health & safety.
- Support the well-being and mental health of learners.
- Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
- Apply methods of formative assessment.
- Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.

Training schedule
- You will be offered off the job training, which is a blended model of learning of doing coursework, training and shadowing
- You will be entitled to around six hours per week to do this
- On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be awarded the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship
- You can then move onto a higher-level Teaching Assistant qualification (HLTA) and a postgraduate teaching qualification
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- English Language (grade Grade 4/C)
- Maths (grade Grade 4/C)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
