What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Providing administrative support to the director.
  • The day to day contact and supervision would be with the Finance Director who will provide full training and support.
  • Supporting the finance department in reconciling bank accounts, allocating receipts, processing Accounts Payable and Receivable invoices as well as balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Organising meetings.
  • Calendar management.
  • Contacting and liaising with tenants who have queries.
  • Dealing with incoming calls & escalating queries.
  • Arranging and administering site visits.
  • Assisting in the completion of licencing or mortgage applications.
  • Organising office supplies and keys.
  • Visiting properties and undertaking inspections as well as move in or move out of tenants.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Working towards completing Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. Work based learning with monthly workshops at Hertford Regional College.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There will be opportunities for progression and a permanent position subject to performance.

Things to consider

Driving Licence and access to a car would be required as will need to visit sites. Largely office based in a small team so need to get on with other people and be willing to work on different things, sometimes at the same time. An excellent opportunity if you are willing to work hard for it. Sometimes may not have anything to do so need to be proactive as always tasks to be done that someone else would love the help with.

About the employer

There are approximately 9 companies within the Group and sister Group, and all are involved in the development and ownership of residential and commercial properties in the Herts, Beds and Bucks region – predominantly in Luton. In total around 160 rental units with an additional 400 units in planning or early stages of construction. The role will be largely office based although visits to rental accommodation or building sites may be required.
