The broad purpose of the occupation is to bring the built environment to life by designing the buildings we live and work in, ensuring they meet the needs of the people, plant, and services they need to accommodate whilst providing this efficiently and sustainably to meet climate control objectives.

In this role you will be supported through the Building Services Engineering Apprenticeship scheme. As part of the apprenticeship, you will attend technical college on a day release programme to undertake the theoretical engineering qualification supported by a learning mentor for completion of the apprenticeship and end point assessment (EPA).

With a combination of on-the-job training and academic studies you will gain a qualification in 
Construction and the Built Environment that meets the knowledge requirements approved by the 
Engineering Council as meeting the learning outcomes specified for EngTech at level 4.

 

What you will do

The Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer will be responsible for contributing to the design and implementation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within building projects. This role offers a unique opportunity for professional career development, hands-on experience, and mentorship from experienced professionals within the field.

Responsible for generating good quality, accurate designs, calculations, modelling and drawing records of mechanical building services engineering drawings, and work under the supervision of Engineers and Technicians.


Requirements

  •  5 GCSEs 9-4/ A*-C (including Maths, Science and English above grade 5 or 6/B)
  • Full UK Driving Licence or willingness to obtain
