Lead the future of remote care with the Telehealth Nursing Level 7 Apprenticeship. Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Core Patient Care Tasks

  • Conducting virtual consultations: Assessing patients via phone or video, building rapport, and ensuring safe, effective care.
  • Using remote monitoring tools: Reviewing patient data (blood pressure, glucose, heart rate) and intervening when needed.
  • Providing health education: Guiding patients on self-care, medication adherence, and lifestyle changes.
  • Escalating complex cases: Referring patients to in-person services or specialist teams when remote care isn’t sufficient.

Leadership & Apprenticeship Development

  • Managing caseloads: Prioritising patients, scheduling calls, and ensuring service efficiency.
  • Collaborating with colleagues: Working with other nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals in a digital team environment.
  • Documenting care: Maintaining accurate electronic health records and ensuring compliance with NHS and regulatory standards.
  • Studying leadership modules: Spending 6 hours/week on CMI Level 7 coursework in strategic management and leadership.
  • Applying leadership skills: Taking responsibility for service improvements, mentoring peers, and demonstrating senior leadership behaviours.

Professional Growth

  • Reflecting on practice: Keeping a learning journal, identifying strengths and areas for growth.
  • Participating in cohort learning: Engaging in group discussions, workshops, and peer support sessions.
  • Balancing work and study: Integrating apprenticeship learning with real-world patient care.

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Use horizon scanning and conceptualisation to deliver high performance strategies focusing on growth/sustainable outcomes.
  • Set strategic direction and gain support for it from key stakeholders.
  • Undertake research, and critically analyse and integrate complex information.
  • Lead change in their area of responsibility, create an environment for innovation and creativity, establishing the value of ideas and change initiatives and driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead and respond in a crisis situation using risk management techniques.
  • Act as a Sponsor/Ambassador, championing projects and transformation of services across organisational boundaries such as those impacted by sustainability and the UK Net Carbon Zero by 2050 target.
  • Challenge strategies and operations in terms of ethics, responsibility, sustainability, resource allocation and business continuity/risk management.
  • Apply principles relating to Corporate Social Responsibility, Governance and Regulatory compliance.
  • Drive a culture of resilience and support development of new enterprise and opportunities.
  • Oversee development and monitoring of financial strategies and setting of organisational budgets based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and challenge financial assumptions underpinning strategies.
  • Uses financial data to allocate resources.
  • Oversee procurement, supply chain management and contracts.
  • Use personal presence and "storytelling" to articulate and translate vision into operational strategies, demonstrating clarity in thinking such as consideration of sustainable approaches.

Training schedule

Training is 100% remote but at least 1 day in person will be arranged for those who would like it. It will either be at our London office or at another mutually convenient location.
