Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Your main duties will include:

  • Engineering Manufacturing Doors and Windows
  • Using lean processes to reduce waste and to help the environment
  • Use of a CNC machine, programming of the machines
  • Manufacturing to customer specific specifications
  • Potentially some fabrication and welding
  • Manufacturing from scratch, creating customer specific orders

  • Hull College will deliver the Apprenticeship Standard Lean Manufacturing Level 2
  • Plus Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English if required
  • You will be trained in the workplace by a highly skilled mentor alongside your Hull College Skills Coach who will support and guide you to become a skilled employee

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 2 - 9)
  • Maths (grade 2 - 9)
