We are looking for a motivated and inspirational apprentice teaching assistant who will be responsible for supporting pupils. The successful candidate will bring our innovative curriculum to life, as you maintain good order and discipline, engage pupils of all abilities to reach their full potential.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

- Supporting the class teacher in providing a nurturing learning environment for the children
- Supporting small group interventions
- Preparing the classroom and resources ready for lessons
- Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
- Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records
- Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour

- Comply with legislation, guidance, and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding and health & safety.
- Support the well-being and mental health of learners.
- Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
- Apply methods of formative assessment.
- Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.

Other requirements
You will need an enhanced Disclosure and Barring check, a Children’s Barred list check, two satisfactory references, one of which must be from your existing/most recent employer and completed by a Headteacher/appropriate senior manager/HR Lead, satisfactory pre-employment health screening, online searches and for Teachers, a Prohibition Check in relation to the children’s workforce. In some settings a Declaration will be required in order to meet our obligations under the ‘Disqualification under the Childcare Act 2006.
