Summary

Looking for a motivated, enthusiastic IT & Projects Apprentice to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT support and project delivery. You’ll be involved in a wide range of activities, providing technical support, assisting with IT and business projects such as our new ERP system, Advanced Workshop.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Key responsibilities: 

  • Provide first-line IT support to staff, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. 
  • Assist with setting up new equipment such as laptops, mobile devices, and user accounts. 
  • Support the IT & projects team with system upgrades, installations, and maintenance. 
  • Contribute to project workstreams by helping gather requirements, testing systems, and preparing documentation. 
  • Help maintain IT records, asset registers, and project documentation. 
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels. 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, data protection, and cybersecurity best practices.

Essential skills, characteristics and experience 
We don’t expect you to know everything already – this role is about learning and developing. However, the ideal candidate will have:  

  • A genuine interest in IT and technology. 
  • Good problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn. 
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach. 
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when needed. 
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and IT equipment is desirable but not essential.  
      

Entry Requirements  

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above. 
  • A-Level, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications are desirable but not required. 
  • Eligibility to enrol on an approved IT apprenticeship programme.

Training schedule

During this apprenticeship, you will follow a fully supported training programme with LearnTech, delivered through combined weekly remote classroom-based training, workplace assessment/training and online learning working towards completing the IT Solutions Technician standard.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4 (C))
  • Maths (grade 4 (C))
