Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Job duties include:
- The preparation of personal and corporation tax returns
- P11D's, 60 day CGT disposal returns
- General tax administration such as reviewing tax codes, contacting clients for information and reviewing HMRC correspondence and responding accordingly

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Build trusted and sustainable relationships with individuals and organisations. Consistently support individuals and collaborate to achieve results as part of a team.
- Influence the impact of business decisions on relevant and affected communities based on an appreciation of different organisations and the environments in which they operate.
- Communicate in a clear, articulate and appropriate manner. Adapt communications to suit different situations, individuals or teams.
- Identify ethical dilemmas, understand the implications and behave appropriately. Understand their legal responsibilities, both within the letter and the spirit of the law, as well as be aware of the procedures for reporting concerns over potentially unethical activities.
- Take ownership of allocated projects and effectively manage their own time and the time of others. Demonstrate good project management skills to deliver high quality work within the appropriate timeline. Act as a role model and motivate others to deliver results.
- Evaluate information quickly and draw accurate conclusions. Assess a problem from multiple angles to ensure all relevant issues are considered. Gather the appropriate facts and evidence in order to make decisions effectively.
Training schedule
- Professional Accounting Taxation Technician Apprenticeship Level 4 - ATT A key role within any accountancy and finance function, individuals undertaking this apprenticeship will hone their ability to create, verify and review accurate and timely financial information
- This apprenticeship can suit a variety of financial functions as there are a range of qualifications available to suit your organisation. The ATT qualification gives you the knowledge and practical skills to work in tax compliance
- After qualifying, you can progress onto CTA and become a chartered tax advisor. The ATT syllabus follows a modular structure, which consists of two core certificate papers and four optional certificate papers, allowing you to specialise in your own area of interest or expertise
- You must also complete three computer-based exams (Law, Professional Responsibilities & Ethics and Accounting)
- Compulsory units include: Personal Taxation (PT) Business Taxation (BT)
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- English (grade 9/A*-5/C)
- Maths (grade 9/A*-5/C)
Desirable qualifications
A Level in:

Benefits include: Hybrid Working: 1 day at home and 4 in the office Statutory holiday entitlement. Parking at the business premises. We have annual staff functions, a monthly wellbeing service for employees, dress down Friday at the end of each month. Working hours: 7.75 hrs Monday -Thursday - 7.75 hours and Friday - 4 hours
