Summary
The Warehouse Operative is responsible for all aspects of the warehouse including Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Output Performance in their specific and immediate work area. The purpose of the Warehouse Operative is to carry out a variety of jobs such as, arranging goods in/out, storing and stacking products.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Responsible for the warehouse process in specific area
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and operated according to the SOP’s
- Ensure all work supports a food safety excellence culture through adherence to food safety standards
- Ensuring Key Performance Indicators production targets are met
- Ensure there is an accurate record of stock within the warehouse
- Ensure all items moved, shipped or received are logged in the correct manner
- Ensuring storage areas and the warehouse are kept tidy and identify areas where processes could be improved
- Ensure goods don’t get damaged
- Ensure the bulk assemble pick sheets are dispatched with maximum efficiency
- Adherence to food safety rules/processes
- Load/unload goods from the truck
- Check all loads for damaged or missing items upon receipt
- Ensure all items which come in and goes out of the warehouse are recorded correctly
- Ensure adherence to good hygienic practices in the warehouse liaising with Supervisor and Hygiene Team
- Actively promote clean as you go at all times
- Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with Dalziel Ingredients guiding and operating principles
- Ensuring that communication between staff members/department is ongoing
- Report all machine faults to supervisor and the maintenance team
- Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety
- Identify and report all unsafe operations to supervisor and safety reps immediately
- Supporting the activities of production personnel to ensure effective performance of job duties
- Ensure Team comply with set health and safety policies when carrying out job duties
