Summary

Limelight Signs Ltd are a leading UK Road Traffic Sign manufacturer dealing with the design and manufacture of permanent and temporary road signage, based in Bacup. Excellent inhouse onsite training in all areas provided along with studying towards your qualification, Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative. Hours are 36.75 hours/5 days per week.

Wage

£14,428.05 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Hours
Working hours are 36.75 hours/5 days per week; Monday - Thursday, 8.00am - 4:30pm. Friday, 8.00am - 3:45pm . You will have a 45 minutes unpaid lunch break and also a 15 minute unpaid break each morning.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As an Apprentice, you will receive excellent training in how to:

  • Understanding and following instructions on works orders
  • Logging batch number and information on works orders
  • Using appropriate PPE when preforming certain tasks.
  • Working with various materials aluminium/ Steel/ Composite
  • Competent using various hand tools Drills /Jigsaw /Grinders /Sanders /Multitool /Scalpel Knife /Tape measure.
  • Working alone or as part of a team.
  • Measuring and cutting sign rail /channel using Cross cut saw
  • Measuring and cutting sheet material on Guillotine
  • Applying sign rail /Channel to sign profile using Riveting machine
  • Preparing sign face for vinyl print application
  • Applying sign face print /vinyl using power/ Flatbed rollers
  • Trimming excess vinyl using Scalpel knife
  • Quality checking of finished sign
  • Apply UK CA labels
  • Gathering correct sign furniture /fixings
  • Wrapping and packaging signs for own delivery or courier
  • Loading vehicles
  • Taking deliveries
  • Keeping workshop and own working area clean and tidy
