Summary
We are searching for an apprentice groom to join our team and assist with horse care, riding, instructing and coaching. You will carry out day-to-day care of the horses and equipment along with feeding and care of competition horses.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Duties will include but not limited to:
- Care of horses and equipment
- Mucking out
- Feeding
- Grooming
- Tacking up
- Assisting with lessons
- Mounting and dismounting
- Leading
- Supporting riders to achieve their goals
- Riding different types and levels of horses to maintain and improve training
- Care and preparation of competition horses
- Assisting with professionals such as vets, farriers and physiotherapists
- Grooming at shows for the right candidate

Training schedule
- Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment
- The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship
- The learner will be allocated an industry-specific training consultant who will provide both remote and onsite visits throughout the apprenticeship
- The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship

Desirable qualifications
GCSE in:
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
