Summary

Kaarbontech Ltd are seeking a meticulous, self-driven individual to join their vibrant team as a Level 2 Accounts and Finance Apprentice, as part of a three-person team responsible for completing day to day finance tasks such as bank reconciliations, processing purchase invoices and paying expenses.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

To enhance the the finance team and wider business by providing reliable efficient support to the finance team, via accurate and effective reporting and processing. The successful candidate will seamlessly integrate into their dynamic, rapidly evolving team, playing a fundamental role in amplifying their sales prospects.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Processing invoices and expenses
  • Assist with preparing payment runs
  • Help maintain accurate financial records
  • Support with bank reconciliations
  • Assist with credit control and chasing outstanding payments.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team.
  • Respond to internal and external finance-related queries.
  • Assist with preparing journals and updating cashflow, forecasts and other reports
  • Support month-end and year-end tasks as needed.
  • Assist with other tasks fall within the remit of the finance team including purchasing, insurance renewal and updating of the compliance portal

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4/C and above)
  • Maths (grade 6/B and above)
