Titanic Brewery are on the lookout for an enthusiastic new Bar and Waiting Apprentice to become part of the Sun Inn team!

As a Bar and Waiting Apprentice, your role is all about creating those warm, memorable moments guests will love. It’s so much more than just a shift behind the bar - it’s being the first friendly face our guests see when they arrive, building genuine connections, and going above and beyond to remember the little details about our regulars that keeps them coming back for more. There's so much to get involved in including quiz nights, events, and even our biannual Beer Festival held every May and August.

If you're new to hospitality, you won't be for long! Personality and genuine passion is what counts rather than previous experience as you work towards your Food and Beverage Team Member Level 2 qualification over the course of 12-18 months.

  • Taking orders and serving our fantastic food and drinks
  • Knowing the menu inside and out, able to make recommendations to guests to suit their needs and dietary requirements
  • Being passionate about providing brilliant customer service
  • Caring about the wider team, turning your hand to support wherever needed
  • Supporting the team with events including set up and closing

  • A mixture of face to face and virtual catch ups every 4 - 6 weeks to discuss feedback and progress
  • A mixture of on and off the job training, including workshops and webinars
  • Reviews every 12-weeks with your Line Manager and apprenticeship coach
  • Opportunity to gain real world experience and an education without the expectation to attend college

  • Comply with health and safety legislation, regulations, guidelines and procedures.
  • Follow food safety and allergen legislation and procedures applicable to own role.
  • Use technology and equipment in line with business policy to meet customer needs.
  • Handle transactions and payments securely.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure that the products and services are delivered on time and in line with business needs
  • Deal with or escalate issues that impact service and customer experience, and implement any instructions given by supervisor.
  • Use professional methods of communication that are tailored to different situations, and individual and team needs.
  • Manages own time and workload, prioritising tasks.
  • Maintain and rotate stock according to life cycle and business processes.
  • Ensure equipment and technology faults and maintenance issues are reported promptly.

  • Reduces the waste of resources, taking sustainability into account, in line with business expectations.

The Sun Inn, Stafford is firmly placed within the heart of the town's community! With 12 hand pulls, there is a great range of cask ales on the bar with rotating guest ales. The Sun Deck is a covered outside space to the rear of the pub with it's own bar open during the summer months. The Sun Deck bar offers a range of draught beers, canned and bottled beer, Gin and other spirits. The Sun holds a biannual Beer Festival which takes place in May and August.
