Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
There is a skills shortage within construction generally, but particularly within the Building Services Design sector.
We are offering the opportunity to train as a Building Services Design Engineer (HVAC).
Working as part of the design team within an M&E contractor, you will not only gain the necessary technical skills, but you will benefit from the practical knowledge and experience of working with our installation teams; this will set you apart from other design engineers who go down the consultancy route and will be of huge benefit to your career. Added to that, you will have the satisfaction of seeing your designs come to life as the buildings are constructed and ultimately delivered to the end client.
As part of the process, you will learn to use design software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bentley Systems (Hevacomp) and more....
Working with our design team the apprentice will be assisting with the preparation of the following:
- HVAC Design Calculations (Bentley Hevacomp).
- HVAC Systems Layouts / Schematics (AutoCAD, Revit).
- Selection and Scheduling of HVAC Plant and Equipment (Excel).
